Obituary: CLIFTON ROMAIN CLARK JR.
CORINNE – Clifton Romain Clark Jr., 91, passed
away on Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at St. Joseph’s
Villa Special Care Center in Salt Lake City, Utah
from causes from incident of age.
He was born on September 28, 1914 in
Pleasant Grove, Utah, a son of C.R. Clark, Sr.
and Rhoda Barnes Clark.
Clifton was reared and educated in
Pleasant Grove and graduated from Pleasant Grove
High School, where he was on the All State
Basketball Team.
He married Nina June Gillman on
September 28, 1932 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
He was in the mercantile and ranching
business in Utah, Wyoming and Montana. He later
settled in Corinne, where he ranched and retired
from the Box Elder School District after 11 years
driving bus.
He remained active in farming and
ranching until challenged by his health.
Last summer, he and June were honored
as the July 4th Parade Grand Marshall’s as the
longest married couple in Corinne with 72 years
of marriage.
He is survived by his wife, June of
Corinne; one daughter, Carolyn Clark (Joe Smith)
of Draper; Lyle (LaPriel) Clark of Corinne;
Dallas (Tami) Clark of West Valley City; daughter-
in-law, Maxine (Ron – deceased) Clark of Murray;
12 grandchildren, Barry (Sharon) Burkinshaw,
Debra (Larry) Van Wagoner, Troy Burkinshaw,
Denique Burkinshaw, Karen (Gary) Crook, Gary
(Becky) Clark, Ace (Deone) Clark, Mindy (Shawn)
Morehead, Jamie Clark, Krystal (Peter) Whitaker,
Eldon (Beca) Clark, Abby (Bret) Clark; nine great
grandchildren; two sisters, Elda Bowen and Alta
Noble.
He was preceded in death by his two
sons, Ronald G. Clark, C. Jay Clark, two sisters,
Orpha Beers, Violet Beers.
We would like to express our gratitude
of the loving care for our husband and father at
St. Joseph’s Villa Special Care Center,
especially JoAnn and Judy.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations
be made in Cliff’s name to the Alzheimer’s

Funeral services will be on Saturday, March 11,
2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gillies Funeral Chapel,
634 East 200 South, Brigham City, Utah.
Family will greet friends on Friday from 6:00 to
8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45
a.m. at the funeral chapel.
Interment will be in the Corinne City Cemetery.
